Chatham Fire & Police Departments share this facility. The station was not built for the number of personnel currently assigned here. Some discussions are taking place about what solutions may work for the future. Previous plans suggested the possibility of a new police facility, leaving the extra space for the fire department. More recent talk includes the possibility of a new South Chatham Station 2 to better serve the town with response times. Jan 2006 Present South Chatham fire station on Route 28 is not staffed. |
